GOAL
Department Of Dentistry, welcome you all to the department in GMERS Medical college & Hospital ,Vadnagar. Our department provides quality care to the patients with various oral health problems diagnosis and treatment using highest infection control protocols.
KNOWLEDGE: At the end of 36 months of training, the candidates should be able to:
Describe etiology, pathophysiology, periapical diagnosis and management of:
1. Common restorative situations, endodontic situations that will include contemporary management of dental caries, management of trauma and pulpal pathoses including periodontal situations. Demonstrate understanding of basic sciences as relevant to conservative restorative dentistry and Endodontics.
2. Identify social, economic, environmental and emotional determinants in a given case or community and take them into account for planning and execution at individual and community level.
3. Ability to master differential diagnosis and recognize conditions that may require multi-disciplinary approach or a clinical situation outside the realm of the specialty; which he or she should be able to recognize and refer to appropriate specialist.
4. Able to identify social, cultural, economical, genetic and environmental factors and their relevance o disease process management in the oral and maxillofacial region.
5. Essential knowledge of personal hygiene and infection control, prevention of cross infection and safe disposal of hospital waste keeping in view the high prevalence of hepatitis and HIV.
SKILLS
We specialize in providing care in various surgical procedures including root canal treatment , restorations in specific carious teeth , wisdom tooth removal, facial trauma, space infections of head and neck, dento-alveolar surgery, TMJ disorders, Implant and reconstructive surgery including cleft lip and palate, orthognathic surgery, and management of oral cancers.

Our department renders high standard of academic as well as clinical education to undergraduate students. We give specialist training to all students in diagnosis and surgical management of disease of Oral and Maxillofacial region. It is our privilege that we are getting referrals from long distance and the satisfaction of our patients after successful treatment drives and motivates us to passionately provide quality care.
